As painful as cheating is, it's something too many of us experience. There's no excuse for it, and it's not a "mistake" as many people frame it as. Maybe if it's once, but if it's an ongoing thing, then it's absolutely intentional. Everyone has their own reasons for cheating, and sometimes it has nothing to do with the person they're dating. Sometimes it can be a cry for help, that they feel like they're not being seen or loved in the relationship. Sometimes it is just purely physical, and people do it for the novelty of a new partner. Sometimes people do it as revenge, which is the worst case scenario in my opinion. Being unfaithful is one thing, but being malicious on top of it is just unbelievable to me. How could someone want their partner to suffer? 

In the story below, we don't have the reason behind her cheating, but the protagonist's girlfriend cheated just before they were supposed to get married. As he's left devastated, she's left indifferent, adding insult to injury. Read the full story below for all the juicy details.

    The past few times she's been back to the house she's talked to me and I've ignored her, literally just blanked her. She's asked me questions like 'Did you have a good week?' 'How's things?' 'Is work busy?' etc and I've just ignored her. To interact with her hurts too much.

  • This woman seems like a real piece of work. She has the nerve and lack of compassion to cheat at all, then to show basically no remorse? As if it just didn't happen? And then to ask him why he's upset? There's a word for this type of person, and it's narcissist.

    I want to scream at her at what she's done and the extent of her betrayal but I'm not stupid enough to think she'd listen, I'm not stupid enough to think it would change anything. The message 'l just don't understand where this is all coming from' is the last one she sent me.

    I want to lock the door on the day we sell the house, get into my car silently as she's moving out the last of her stuff and just get into my car and drive off. I want to be a dot, an enigma, a 'nothing' that she never heard from again, not even my hears my voice. I can't do it.

    Tell her bluntly that you want nothing to do with her, she is a disgusting person and to stop acting like there is any possibility that a reasonable person in your position could look at her and not want to puke. Then don't engage.
